The new San Marcos location of the Solid Rock Gym is located at 992 Rancheros Drive, San Marcos. This location is north of Highway 78 (west of Nordahl and east of Barham) in the Allied building, which can be easily seen from the 78.

The wall is 28' tall and will have approximently 40 top ropes. Also featured is a large lead climbing area with a big arch so the routes can be very long. Additionally, there is plenty of great bouldering.

Since the opening of SolidRock Old Town in 1993, the gym has attracted a large regional following. SolidRock has hosted numerous local, regional and national level competitions. With the addition of the newest facility in Poway (North County San Diego), SolidRock offers over 22,000 square feet of climbing terrain including the country's most advanced, state-of-the-art climbing walls.

Each gym offers several types of climbing which can be enjoyed by singles as well as groups. At the advanced end of the spectrum, our lead climbing is unparalleled. Between the mammoth limestone style cave in Old Town and our breathtaking sandstone style arch in the Poway club you simply cannot find any better lead climbing in Southern California.

First time and young climbers enjoy the variety and sheer quantity of easy top rope routes and boulder problems. During weeknight evenings the upbeat energy and social interaction is always great because the clubs are bustling with adult and family members of all ages and walks of life. Weekends are also a good time to experience our clubs, due to the high volume of group traffic we accommodate as well as the heavy walk-in business normally associated with Saturday and Sunday.
