Climbing 101 The Beginning This 1-hour introductory class is designed for the person who has always wanted to try rock climbing but doesn't know where to start. Learn the basic safety skills and climbing movements needed to start you in this incredible sport. (All equipment included.) Prerequisite: None Costs: $38 Individual $28 Group $25 Member Climbing 201 Over The Top Don't stop with learning just the basics. Our advanced class emphasizes climbing techniques on overhanging terrain. Learn the fundamentals of drop-knee, body position, toe and heel hooking, and more for climbing the steep stuff. Prerequisite: Climbing 5.9 Costs: $38 Individual $28 Group $25 Member Lead Climbing Taking The "Sharp End" An in-depth session with one of SolidRock's capable instructors is the perfect way for the aspiring lead climber to move into our huge lead cave. Available at your convenience, this 1-hour lesson will take you through basic safety and technique. The lead climbing lesson at SolidRock is a great way to move your climbing to the highest level! Prerequisite: Climbing 5.9+ Costs: $38 Individual $28 Group $25 Member Boy Scouts of America Rock Climbing Merit Badge San Diego's ONLY official Boy Scout Rock Climbing Merit Badge program is comprised of two, 2-hour sessions, scheduled within a 30 day period. Scouts will learn about climbing history, different types of climbing, equipment, knots, safety, teamwork, levels of difficulty, climbing technique, rappelling, and more! SolidRock will provide scout leaders with requirement checklists to log their group's progress. We are also proud to announce that all of the SolidRock staff are certified scout counselors as well as being C.P.R. and first-aid certified. Call us for more information or to book your troop.
